We have a home reared herd of North Devon sucklers which graze organic pastures from April to November.

During the winter they are fed only home made organic silage (no concentrates), in spacious yards with freedom to lie in comfortably strawed cubicle sheds, which are cleaned out daily.

The cows calve in the Spring, each cow rearing only her own calf on milk and good quality grass. The calves stay with their mother for about 10 months so that the weaning is not a trauma for either.

The cows then have 2 months rest before calving again.
