We rear our table chicken from day old chicks (brought to the farm every month every 6-8 weeks in batches of 200) to maturity at 3 months. They are either Sasso or Hubbard birds which are suited to organic rearing.

For the chicks first 3 weeks they need to be reared inside in a heated environment. Once fully feathered they are ready to go out to the field, where they forage for food in a large grassed electrically fenced run and are fed organic grain.

The laying flock are kept in the same way in a separate field, and lay wonderful organic eggs for most of the year.
